Michael is the founder of the Annual CyberExpoIreland and CyberConIreland events in Dublin. Michael heads up the Value-Added distribution business of Renaissance. Michael has managed the vendor relationships with over sixty leading Global data security vendors. Michael is heavily involved in evaluating and on boarding new cyber and compliance technologies for delivery into Ireland. Michael is a regular speaker on Cyber Security and Compliance subjects. Michael regularly contributes to debates on Cyber security and the need to embed Cyber Security into key organisations. Michael has been involved in the preparation and review of Continuity and Crisis Management Plans for many of the leading organisations in Ireland and the UK. Michael is a Fellow of the Emergency Planning Society and a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society. Seamus’ career in tech began in 1997 when he worked as an in-house tech for one of the largest indigenous accountancy practises in Ireland. In 2003, he founded an MSP called myITdepartment and grew this business both organically and via a series of small acquisitions to 25 staff and €2.7m turnover. In 2021, myITdepartment was acquired by Intuity Technologies and Seamus served on the leadership team in Intuity until 2024.
Seamus founded his current company (CyberContego) in 2024 and this business is a cybersecurity consultancy, support and monitoring company serving clients all over Ireland and the UK. Our focus is to provide digital defence solutions for SMEs. We provide a range of cybersecurity solutions including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, DMARC compliance and Managed SOC. We partner with several MSPs around Ireland to deliver cyber services to their clients.
